Botulotoxine is applied by several punctures of a very thin needle into respective muscle without aesthesis; the patient may feel mild pressure or tingle. A small bulge depending on the amount of used material might appear; it absorbs within several minutes. In case a small blood vessel is injured, tiny bleeding or small bruise might appear; it absorbs within a week.
Results can be seen in 2 to 3 days, full results can be expected within a week.
The whole treatment takes less than 15 minutes. Short consultation with the doctor and answering possible questions should be added to it.
The patient should be in vertical position for about 4 to 5 hours after the treatment, which is essential especially in case of mimic wrinkles around eyes, as the material might move to the area of eyelids in case of unsuitable regime in side position; this is undesirable due to risk of temporary eyelid drop.
For 1 or 2 days, it is necessary to avoid exercise that might lead to stronger blood circulation in relevant muscles and stronger diffusion of effective matter than desirable. Spinning, going to sauna etc are very unsuitable activities for the first two days after the application.
It is suitable to avoid face massage and other cosmetic treatment of the face within one week after the application of botulotoxine
According to the latest research, the effective matter – botulotoxine establishes links with receptors without active movement of the muscle. Muscle exercise for four hours after the operation– frowning and crouching – is not necessary.
In case an excessive amount of botulotoxine applied into the area of forehead and exterior part of eyebrows, feeling of “heavy eyelids“ or skin fold, so called “blefarochalasis” might appear.
Slight feeling of “pins and needles” for a week after application as well as slight headaches might appear exceptionally.
